BPM Festival, the “original one”, has been one of the most famous electronic music festival. It took place every january in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
30.000 people from all over the world used to throng the 10 festival areas for 10 days, 24h per day, listening to over 375 international guest djs.
On 2017 edition, during the closing party, 5 people have been killed after gunman opened fire at Blue Parrot Club. 2 days later, BPM organisers said the festival in Playa del Carmen wouldn’t be allowed to return.

BPM Festival Guide
The BPM is one of the most famous festivals dedicated to techno music and this year it will be held for the first time in Europe, more precisely in Portugal. 4 days and 4 nights of music and events in an exclusive location: the Praia de Rocha in the city of Portimão.
We advise you to book your package for a week, from September 19th to 24th, in order to take part in the entire event and have a few more days to relax on the beach or visit the surroundings. Here you can find all the information you need to be able to reach and fully enjoy your BPM Festival!
How to reach the BPM Festival Portugal?
To reach the BPM, the most convenient solution is to take a flight to Lisbon and then reach Portimão, the city that hosts the festival. The best flights to reach it are those that depart from the airports of:
Naples
Rome
Bologna
Milan
Flights departing from these cities are non-stop and last only 3 hours. Also from the Venice airport there are some flights with a stopover that last from 3 to 5 hours.
To get to Portimão from the Lisbon airport there are more solutions.
The first is to take a bus from the company EVA Transportes, which makes direct trips to Portimão. The bus leaves from the Rodovìario Terminal in Lisbon and arrives at the destination in about 3 hours. The one way price is 20 euros, the one way price is 36 euros.
Another solution is to take a direct train that will take you in 4 hours from the Lisbon Oriente or Entrecampos stations, the closest to the airport, in Portimão. Prices are around € 20/25. Reaching the terminal bus or railway stations is very simple: the airport is connected to the city center by the AeroBus service, which runs every 20 minutes.
Finally, it is possible to book a rental car to comfortably reach the BPM Festival in two and a half hours. The price for renting a small car for the week from Wednesday 19 to Wednesday 24 September, in order to enjoy the festival and visit the surroundings, is around 150 euros.

The area of Portimão and Praia de Rocha is equipped with numerous hotel facilities of all categories with attractive prices. There is also a 5-star spa hotel.

Those who love walking will love the Ribeirinha, a characteristic pedestrian path that runs along the promenade and the port, and the charming old city, full of culture and “green”.
Praia de Rocha, the location of the BPM, is the modern and lively town located near the beach of Portimão, where you will find enchanting cliffs that hide small bays, crystal clear waters and lots of nightlife.
